After more than three weeks at altitude I am back home in Norway
The travel back home from Flagstaff went just fine. I have not had problems with the time and weather change. The weather here in Norway has been ok since I am home again. It has been quite cold, but there haven't been any "bad weather" days. I went straight back to work on Monday and this has been very good for me. I like my job and this helped me very well to cope with the time difference after more than three weeks in the USA. I got up early, did my first training and than I went to work. I felt tired in between and of course I also had the usual "up and downs" after altitude training. But I am quite happy with everything and it feels good to be back home. The last two days I went to work early because of meetings and I also had to hold a speech for Adecco at the Economical Univerity in Bergen (NHH). This fit my schedule just fine, because I decided to compete on Ibiza tomorrow afternoon. The organizers invited me and because of the fact that the womens race is a 10km race, I decided to go. It feels good to do a 10km race after altitude training and one week before my next 20km race at the IAAF Challenge in Rio Maior/Portugal. This year the competition on Ibiza is also part of the IAAF Race Walking Challenge as a category C event. I really like these races in Spain. They have always a very good atmosphere and you can feel that race walking has a lot of history in Spain. It is also good that we get more kind of these races across Europe :-)
