This weekend we had our National Race Walking Championships in our hometown Os. I really enjoy to walk in the center of Os where we have a really fast course with a very nice atmosphere. It's located very close to the fjord and the river and therefore there is always a lot of good salty air to breath in. The conditions could have been better, but they certainly also could have been worse. Earlier this week we had rain and 9 degrees Celsius, so 15 degrees, sun and a bit windy on Friday was fine with me :-)I like it better with 25 degrees than 15 degrees, but there was not much I could do with that. My 5km race went fine, I had to work really hard in the wind and it was a little cold, but I was able to walk fast. I was really happy to become Norwegian Champion in the time of 20:38. For that I got my NOR Championship gold number 43, but it was my first Track and Field medal. The 42 gold from before were all from the Norwegian Race Walking association. From 1st of April this year we are finally a part of Norwegian Athletics :-)

I was really impressed of Erik this weekend, he walked a very strong 10km on Friday. He walked his second fastest 10k ever and past the finish line in 37:44!!!! Trond Nymark became second in 39:51, which is a personal best for him and his first time ever under 40 minutes.

After the race Friday evening there was not much time to rest. Saturday morning Erik took part in the 20km and I in the 10km. Each of us won another national title. Erik walked the 20km in 1.35:45 and I walked 10km in 49:11. My 44th gold medal was in the box :-) and the goals for the weekend were reached.

The week after the race in Krakow I didn't recover much, it was my peak week of the season so far, and I was able to put in a week of very good training. This last week and next week are two easy weeks before we go to altitude training in St. Moritz on the 23rd of June, but before that we will also go to La Coruna.
