Dq due to some problems....
After St.Moritz my training went very well. I was in my best shape ever and was really looking forward to race in my last major Championship. On the 31st of July I walked 3.000m in the Norwegian Championship in new Norwegian record of 12:00. For this result I was rewarded with the Kings Trophy. The Kings Throphy is given to the athlete with the best result at the Norwegian Championship. It was a big honor for me to receive it in my first and my last Norwegian Championship as a member of the Athletic federation.
After that and until Berlin I was training very well, but 10 days before Berlin I started to get some problems in my right hip and down my right hamstring. I didnt realise how much this would affect me in Berlin. The dq was a result of having pain while race walking and of course I was very disappointed. It was not this way I wanted to end my last Championship.
I was very disappointed for three weeks after the Worlds in Berlin. It was not easy to be motivated to train enough to be able to do good in the Challenge final in Saransk on the 19th of September. Having pain in each step I was race walking didn't make the situation better. Therefore we decided to go to my Doctor in Germany Dr. Karl Heinz Graff who also helped me with my back injury in 2007 and other injuries before that. He helped me again and found out about my problems. I had two areas of stress in my right hip and that was the reason for my pain. He threated it, and it didnt take many days before I could train without pain. Then it also started to be fun again. I was able to turn my mode and motivation, and I started to look forward to the final in Saransk.
