I had a lot of confidence when I came to Beijing, but after a couple of days there I got very unsure about my self, my shape, etc. I was in wrong focus. It went on for a day and then I told coach Stephan.
We discussed it a litle bit and decided to contact Britt Tajet Foxel (sports psycologist) who I worked together with before Athens (after three Championship DQ's in a row). She was in Beijing with the Norwegian Olympic Committee and stayed in a Hotel in the City. It was really good for me to meet her again and we sat together for 15 minutes. Then she had changed my mindset again and I was back in focus :-) My confidence was back. From then on I was looking forward to race again!
Two days before my race Erik told me that it would be heavy rain and 20-23 degrees in the morning on my competition day. I couldn't change it anyway, so why bother!
And HEAVY rain it was, but the temperature was good. Not cold, not warm, just very wet and humid :-)
