It was
very good to have my
parents and my children
"together"
with me in Gothenburg.
They stayed at the Norwegian
Seaman Church which
is located next to the
race walk course not
far from the stadium.
During the days I could
choose to be in our
team hotel or to be
together with them.
On the day of my race
I became to nervous,
then I made a phone
call and five minutes
later I met with Kiara,
Sebastian, Stephan and
my Mom. It was really
good to see them. It
was only 10 minutes,
but when I went back
to my room I was calm
and focused!
After
my race at the European
Championships I had
pain in my stomach,
I was VERY tired, but
still I was happy! My
body was so exhausted
that I only managed
to sleep two hours from
2am to 4am during the
night after the race.
I had pain all over
and my body was working
hard to recover. I needed
to sleep, but I couldn't.
I stayed in bed and
waited for the time
to finally become 6am
so that I could go down
to eat breakfast.
For the next week I
had problems with my
stomach and I even had
to take one day off
from training. I just
stayed home on the sofa
or in bed the whole
day. I didn't feel very
good during race walk
practice so we decided
that it was time to
start running again.
My stomach was happy
with that decision and
I was able to do some
training.
For a couple of days
I have been feeling
better. Finally my training
is getting back to normal.
The training for the
last days has mostly
been easy distance training,
but on Saturday I did
a Fartlek.
Now I finally look
forward to compete again.
My next race will be
on Sunday the 27th.
It will be a fast 5km
race in Hildesheim,
Germany :-)
