April
started with one week
of training in Bochum,
Germany, together with
Sabine Zimmer (GER)
and Erik Tysse. Although
Sabine is from Germany,
it was her first training
camp in the Ruhr-area.
Her new coach, Heiko
Schulze, lives there.
She was surprised about
the good training possibilities
they have and about
the nice green areas
with good roads for
training. Both on cinder
and on asphalt. We had
as always good training
conditions in Bochum,
nice temperatures and
good weather! Kiara
had Easter break at
school and we had the
kids with us in Germany.
Kiara's school started
again the Tuesday after
Easter and therefore
we flew back home on
Easter Saturday. After
having really good training
conditions in Germany
it was a shock to wake
up Sunday morning and
see that we had snow
outside :-( Not the
best way to prepare
for a race in southern
Europe... The snow went
away and the next days
it was "just"
cold. I had to train
with winter tight, a
thick jacket, gloves
and a hat. I rather
should have stayed in
Germany together with
Erik and Sabine...
