After
my long break with no
racewalking during autumn
2007 I am very pleased
with my season so far.
The only thing I was
not very happy with,
was the fact that I
could not go to Cheboksary
for the World Cup. My
goal has always been
to match and compete
with the best in the
world. I am definetely
looking forward to compete
with the Russians and
Chinese and all the
other girls in Beijing
in about two months.
This season
we have not focused
on fast times at all.
Our main focus has been
on the work on staying
healthy and to be able
to train the whole time.
The results in this
years IAAF Race Walking
Challenge show me that
I have done my homework
so far. It has been
my best Challenge season
since the IAAF launched
it in 2003! These Challenge
races are so important
because there you can
always compete on a
very high international
level. Thanks to the
IAAF and all local organizers
for making this possible!
Tomorrow
we will have our National
Race Walk Championships
on track. This event
will take place at the
famous "Fana
stadion" where
the "Søfteland
Grand Prix"
used to be. On this
track have been set
numerous national, european,
area and world records.
The men's race will
be 10.000m and we will
walk 5.000m.
Next week
we will go to St. Moritz
and we look forward
to that :-)
