The race was hard today,
but in front of thousands
of people, it was awesome
to compete. I had to
walk a smart race and
I did. I just focused
on my self and walked
a steady pace through
the whole race, never
being in the lead. Susana
Feitor was really strong
to day and she deserved
to win. The second place
went to Athanasia Tsoumeleka
and I became third.
Fourth place went to
Ines Henriques and Sabine
Zimmer was fifth. Followed
by Claudia Stef.
Finally I won the overall
title of the IAAF Race
Walking Challenge, after
I placed second in 2003
and 2007.
It has been a long,
but fantastic season
for me. Now I have reached
all my goals for this
year. I won an Olympic
Medal, I did a personal
best and today I won
the overall title of
the Challenge series.
